A good site to view and paste photos of people into your blog. e.g. Justin Bieber, you can find 1,885 images of him.   So for our young customers who are fans of Justin Bieber then come to this site because hes HOT!!! :D (courtesy of a fan, but it's not ME!!).

You can export thumbnail print into Adobe (but the image is too small to do anything with it) but you can't do much else with the image.  To be truthful you can get better results with Google image where can you do more things with an image.  So Picapp is really just good for adding images to your blog.

Learning 2.0, : Summary

What can I say...  it was a lot less intensive than the first round of Web 2.0.  I'm now more aware of other things in cyberspace....whether I will use them, promote them to someone else....I think .... knowing about them and having a greater awareness of these new learnings means I have extra tools  in my repertoire to use whenever I might need to.  Thank you for this opportunity!

Learning 2.0, Week 6 : Facebook

Well I'm still on Face book from the first lot of Web 2.0.  Yes it is easy to use and easy to add a friend.  A good way to communicate and network with whoever you might choose to do so.  May use facebook in the future when there is a need.....

Had a peek at Manukau Libraries facebook page and see that the most popular discussions are what are you reading right now and what is the best book you have read.  Well done to all those that have added to the discussion and the ongoing effort  by Tosca and Danielle.     I guess over time there may be more people entering the discussions...I think when there is a need this may become a popular means of communication with libraries.  Maybe get Manix participants to check out Manukau Libraries facebook and add their favourite read (for some points of course)?

Learning 2.0, Week 5 : music files and MP3s

Just spent 30 kind of frustrating minutes looking at free MP3 downloads.  Not that impressed as not that easy to find free things you might like to download.  Even Amazon's free downloads were that interesting.  Went to http://www.mp3raid.com/ which lead me onto a hyperlink promoting free MP3 downloads : http://www.emp3world.com/.  Clicked on : Kylie Minogue, All the lovers (just for something to try)

Yes I downloaded her song.  Not too hard to do.  But you would have to be keen and have lots of time and gigs to download songs, just like anything else you want to download from the net.  Question?? Can you actually download this on our Learn nets??  And would customers really be interested.  Those that are serious about downloading music from the internet would probably do it from the comfort of their own computer.

Learning 2.0, Week 4 : books and social networking

Good reads.  Another social networking site for readers to gather and share their thoughts and feelings about books.  Add in the other features such as make your own quizz, add a video clip or write your own novel and the skies the limit and everyone else can share your creativity.

Although I found some unrelated videos not focussing on anything about books or readers.  Maybe not such a serious site for serious readers.

Learning 2.0, Week 3 : Twitter

Signed up for Twitter. Following 7 twitters. Added it to my blog. Can't say much in 140 characters, but I guess it stops people from rambling about much of nothing. I can see how some people can get carried away and spend heaps of time with twitter and you can very quickly move from one twittter to another if you wish to reply to something that might catch your eye when you're twittering.

I didn't always find it as quick as '123' to reply to twitters as it wouldn't go through straight away, maybe its my computer or maybe twitter gets overloaded??

Like all of these social networking sites 'you have to be seen to be heard', so just another way for those that are interested or have the time to communicate.

Learning 2.0, Week 2 : Zamzar

Converting a word document is easy and just took a couple of minutes. Now the next challenge...converting something else.

Yes, I put it into real life practise the other day! Promoted it to a customer who couldn't open her document. She was pleased that her problems were solved with Zamzar.

Learning 2.0 , Week one : my blog revisited

Well I figured out my password so here goes with learning 2.0. Looking forward to this round as hopefully it has been simplified and some of the new learnings look interesting.
